Psa 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
God loves variety. Everything in this world that God has made is original and nothing is a copy. Every person is different. There’s nobody like you in the entire world. God specifically shaped you according to His plan for your life. You are unique. You were created for a purpose.
The way you find out what God wants you to do with your life is to discover how He shaped you. Architects have a phrase that goes like this: form follows function. Tell me what you want the object to be used for and then you can know how to form it. That is true for us as well. It is in discovering how God created you that you find out what His purpose is for your life.
Through this preaching series our hope is that each of us will come to an understanding of our purpose and calling. The series is called SHAPE which is an acrostic. It stands for the 5 ways that God has specifically prepared us for service. It stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences.
